A Trombe wall is a massive Equator-facing wall that is painted dark color in order to absorb thermal energy from incident sunlight and covered with a glass on the outside with an insulating air-gap between the wall and the glaze.


Pros :


The most flexible solar option.

Work in mild climates as well as in extreme cold.

They can even be used to cool a building instead of heating it.

They stop sun drenching.

Reducing glare.


Cons :


Costly to install

It has to be carefully designed

Ensures that the thermal mass wall of suitable thickness to absorb the excess heat.
